Philip qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Kingston Smith LLP having spent five years in audit, tax and corporate finance for a range of companies. During this time he was involved in cross-jurisdictional pre-IPO due diligence as well as complex tax planning, asset and business valuations.

Thereafter, Phil was appointed CFO of Moyses Stevens, a private-equity backed business in luxury retail, where he was also part-responsible for building the firm’s online business.

During this time, Phil oversaw multiple capital raisings and was involved in building a highly skilled management team to lead the business, as well as reformulating internal processes and procedures. Following his decision to leave the company in 2007, Phil was asked to remain on the company’s board for several months.

Phil has been working with Excellion since its inception in 2007. As COO he oversees the firm’s legal, financial and regulatory matters. He also brings this expertise into Excellion’s transactions.

Over the last few years, Phil has been involved in a number of transactions with a particular focus on industrials and energy. He maintains strong relationships with a range of market participants across Israel and the UK, and he works with a number of investment and advisory entities around the world.

  • Advised hedge funds in acquiring ‘king-maker stakes’ in Meinl International Power on 2 occasions for €10m
  • Advised Izaki Group on on-market purchase to acquire 7% of Atlas Estates for £3m
  • Advised Centrotherm AG on the private placement of 2 tranches of debt raising in total more than €100m
